Through generous local contributions and funds from the EAA Ray Aviation Scholarship fund, we are proud to offer a number of scholarships to deserving candidates each year.
Our Scholarships
EAA Chapter 17 Scholarship Programs
Our chapter is proud to support the aviation dreams of young people in many ways including providing scholarships to assist in financing aviation training.
In addition to funding a number of Chapter 17-specific awards, we are proud to be able to offer awards from EAA’s Ray Scholarship funded by the Ray Foundation.
Candidates may apply for our scholarships by submitting a scholarship application. Each scholarship application is carefully reviewed by our scholarship committee.
Completed applications can be submitted to the committee via email or by mail.

AOPA also offers a number of scholarships annually for everything from private pilot training to A&P or Aircraft Engineer training. Details on the available awards and application deadlines are available at AOPA.org.
While not directly a source of funds, the FAA has published a helpful list of organizations and scholarships that is worth reviewing. Review the list on FAA.gov.

About the Ray Aviation Scholarship
EAA chapters apply for a scholarship, and if approved, the chapter then awards the scholarship to a youth or young adult to help them become a pilot. In addition to scholarship funding, the chapter also helps mentor the scholar and supports them on their path to becoming a licensed pilot.
This scholarship is available for candidates 16-19 years old who are pursuing a Private Pilot or Sport Pilot certificate, and for candidates 15-19 years old who are pursuing a Glider Pilot certificate.
