Our EAA chapter will be providing help during the set up before the Smoky Mountain KMAA Air Show as well as the weekend event. Over fifty volunteers have stepped forward to offer support. After several notices were sent via email, it was discovered that the National Guard also required a drivers license number and state of issue to receive unescorted access to the military side of the airport.
Not every volunteer was able to respond in time. No Worries as there is plenty of work and access will be given to the many chapter volunteers. Because of our experience with aircraft and their safety requirements, our participation will be around the airplanes to inform and protect the public.
We were never intended for jobs relating to parking or tickets. We don’t yet know our exact responsibilities but are working with MKAA to make them aware of our capabilities. We will have our own geographic area of responsibility and aircraft on display. This will be a great opportunity to recruit new members to our chapter, and promote YOUNG EAGLES to encourage an interest in aviation.
